National Theatre for Scotland and award-winning documentary theatre socialists Rimini Protokoll (Germany) present Do’s & Don’ts in this unusual and exciting tour around Paisley.

Everyone enjoys people watching. Imagine the city is like a giant laboratory in which you can observe everyday human behaviour. But within the lab there are rules: Do’s and Don’ts.

You are taken on a journey in a remodelled truck, a mobile auditorium, looking out at the city through a large window. Next to the driver sits a child, who invites the audience to examine the city and the people in it: laws, rules, norms, rituals, explicit and implicit arrangements, visible and invisible codes.

A soundscape created by a local choir supports and comments on the journey.

Step inside the Cosmopot.

A magical space full of bubbles, star-gazing and teapots.

Taking the teapot constellation of Sagittarius as inspiration, Cosmopot is a multi-sensory show suitable for all children aged 5-8 years old.

Created by Paisley Arts Centre’s Artist in Residence, Clare McGarry. Clare is Artistic Director of Grinagog Theatre Company (creators of The Edibles, The Pokey Hat and Little Ulla) and has been working in communities across Renfrewshire throughout this year.

FÈIS PHÀISLIG PRESENTS

Fèis Phàislig present a bumper afternoon of traditional music, singing and dancing at The Spree 2018.

Fèis Phàislig give audiences the opportunity to come-and-try traditional music and Gaelic singing, showcase young local musicians and bring together friends and family for an afternoon ceilidh with some of Scotland’s top traditional musicians.

STARCATCHERS PRESENT SPROG ROCK

Sprog Rock is a live interactive gig for all ages, but especially 0-5 year olds and their adults.

The Sprog Rockers have toured throughout Scotland, creating music and gigs for children and adults to enjoy together.

The gig will be celebratory, inventive, playful; an interactive experience for all to enjoy, feel part of and join in with!

MINI MANOEUVRES

Mini Manoeuvres brings the best club DJs to a day time audience of families for all of you who enjoy a night out on the dancefloor but don’t get the chance as much now that you’re a parent with no babysitter required!

It’s a party for all of the family with lots of activities and good vibes for infants, children and adults alike. Children will have a full sensory experience of music, soft play, storytelling, bubbles, balloons, face painting, party games and a baby area.

Children can unleash their creative side with themed arts and crafts, murals, Lego and Playdoh stations. It’s a fun day out for both adults and kids where dancing is highly encouraged!

BOOKBUG

Two sessions are available:
9.45am – 10.15am: Up to 15 months old
10.15am – 11.15am: 15 months – 4 years old

Bookbug sessions are free, fun and friendly events for babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers and their families to enjoy together.

Each session lasts around 30 minutes and includes songs, stories and rhymes. They take place in a very relaxed environment and are a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your little one.

CIRCUS SKILLS WORKSHOPS WITH AERIAL EDGE

Ever fancied running away with the circus? Well now is your chance as Aerial Edge is teaming up with Spree Festival to offer circus skills for ages 0 – 16!

Discover your inner Greatest Showman in these action packed workshops, where you will move through a variety of circus skills from Hula Hooping and Juggling to Tightwire and Aerial Silks.

What to wear: Comfortable, fitted gym clothing (you may be upside down!) with full length sleeves and leggings. Trainers are essential.

Bring: Water.

FUNBOX

FUNBOX , formerly of the Singing Kettle, will be performing Pirate Party at The Spree.

Familiar favourites like ‘Over the Irish Sea’ and ‘What Shall We Do with Drunken Sailor?’ as well as brand new songs, will entertain and enthral kids of all ages – from nought to ninety!

The magical FUNBOX contains everything you need to sing songs or have an adventure. Join Anya, Kevin and Gary on their quest to find all the keys.

Dress up, join in the fun and come dressed as a pirate … YO HO HO!
