Spooky season brings horror icons and vampire romance back to the big screen at Vue this Halloween
To get into the spirit this Halloween season, some of the latest horror blockbusters – alongside creepy classics, enchanting family favourites and the ever-popular Twilight Saga – will all be heading to the big screen at Vue venues in Scotland offering a treat for audiences of all ages, tastes and scare levels.
Based on the bestselling books series by Stephanie Meyer, The Twilight Saga became a worldwide sensation when the first film was released back in 2008. This October, Vue will bring every chapter of this saga of vampires, werewolves and young love back to the big screen.
The story of Bella Swan, who falls in love with the cold and mysterious Edward Cullen, returns as all five chapters of the saga return kickstarting with Twilight on 3 October.
The tricks and treats don’t stop there, as Vue’s Back on the Big Screen programme delivers Halloween fun for the whole family. Highlights include the bewitchingly wicked Hocus Pocus from 4 October, undead antics with Corpse Bride celebrating its 20th anniversary on 10 October and the return of the Hotel Transylvania trilogy throughout the month, bringing Count Dracula and his best monster buddies back for some Halloween hilarity.
Other classic Halloween films making a comeback to mark milestone anniversaries include one of Universal’s original monster movies The Bride of Frankenstein, which terrifies again 90 years after first shocking audiences.
More cult favourites also make a return include the bone-chilling The Descent (20th Anniversary) and the haunting Ghost (35th Anniversary) providing for some perfect Halloween viewing.
Robert Lea, Head of Screen Content of Vue UK and Ireland, said: “This Halloween, we’re thrilled to be able to put on a raft of new and classic films for our scary and spooky film-lovers.
“From family-friendly comedy horrors, to cult favourites, we know how gripping scary films can be and want to provide the very best big screen experience for people to enjoy every laugh and every scare this October.”
