The Dunnet Bay journey can be traced back to founders Martin and Claire's university days where they would talk of one day returning to Caithness to set up a business together. The dream was finally realised in 2014 with the installation of their first still 'Elizabeth' and they perfected and produced the delicious Rock Rose Gin. The rest, as they say, is history!
Awarded Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year at the 2019 Scottish Gin Awards, Dunnet Bay Distillers continues to be firm favourites in the Scottish gin industry.
Their Original Rock Rose Gin, now celebrating its 10th Birthday, gets its wonderful flavour from a carefully selected and put together creation of local and traditional botanicals. Each one meticulously chosen for their flavour properties to create the perfect taste.
Holy Grass Vodka is celebration of local produce and ingredients, the spirit is also infused with a carefully crafted vapour of Highland apples and apple juice, to complement the sweetness of the Holy Grass.
Mapmaker’s Rum is twice distilled using Dunnet Bay's bespoke copper pot stills. They only collect the middle cut of the second distillation, which is then blended with Caribbean rum, Loch Calder water and, using Hanna’s expertise, spiced with local botanicals: lemon verbena, scurvy grass, sea kelp and Scottish sea salt.
This is a free in-store tasting with no booking required.
