Join us to Make & Mend with a scrunchie and patch pockets special. A fun opportunity to try your hand at basic sewing and making skills reusing offcuts and waste textiles to make and take away a scrunchie or add a pocket to an existing garment. Bring your own garments to upcycle by adding useful patch pockets, give old textiles you’ve loved a new lease of life as a fun hair accessories or simply use our great selection of donated deadstock fabric and lace. All bits and bobs, sewing machines and guidance will be provided.
This workshop is suitable for a beginner with no experience, and will teach basic sewing skills. A relaxed and informal session, we have space for x8 free participants each week between the ages of 11-25 years old. Over 25 and looking to get involved? Join in as a volunteer to share your skills (even if it’s just tidying up!) sew along and make use of the workspace facilities by booking a volunteer place. If you have a mending project in progress you are always welcome to bring it along to use the facilities and sew along with us, just book a place.
