The event takes place on Sunday 18th August 2024.
The event consists of:
150 spaces for the individual triathlon event
24 spaces for team event entries ie 24 teams/3 per team
24 spaces for our Junior Aquathlon event (swim & run)
Adult Sprint Distance Triathlon Individual event:
Half Mile Swim (24 lengths)
10 Mile Cycle - Gourock Pool to Bankfoot Roundabout (turn point before Bankfoot Roundabout at the right turn towards entrance to Ardgowan Estate) and back.
5Km Run - Gourock Pool to McInroy's Point (turn point before the exit road of the ferry terminal) and back.
Inverclyde Leisure members = £44.60
Non members = £55.10
Junior Aquathlon:
Quarter Mile Swim (12 lengths)
And a 3Km Run - Gourock Pool to Gourock Yacht Club (turn point before yacht club car park) and back.
*for 10 – 17 year olds only
Inverclyde Leisure members = £15.80
Non members = £18.90
Triathlon Team event:
Half Mile Swim (24 lengths)
10 Mile Cycle - Gourock Pool to Bankfoot Roundabout (turn point before Bankfoot Roundabout at the right turn towards entrance to Ardgowan Estate) and back.
5Km Run - Gourock Pool to McInroy's Point (turn point before the exit road of the ferry terminal) and back.
Team entry = £55.10 per team of 3 participants
Closing date for entries is Sunday 4th August 2024 . Limited places available - first come first served basis. Entry to this event is at the competitors own risk. If you have any health concerns regarding participation in this event, seek professional medical advise prior to taking part.
The event welcomes beginners, however please note that there is a 45 minute swim time cap. This means that if you are still swimming at 45 minutes you will be stopped and asked to leave the pool to move onto the cycle phase of the race to allow the next heat to start.
Please also note that all cyclists must wear helmets on the cycle phase of the Triathlon.
Heat and lane positions will be e-mailed to all participants no later than Friday 16th August 2024. Please also 'Like' us on Facebook and check our website www.inverclydeleisure.com for regular updates.
