Wednesday 21st September is World Alzheimer's Day and Paisley town centre businesses are inviting you to join them for a Tea and Blether!
About Paisley Town Centre Tea And Blether
Many of our local businesses from cafés, bars, newsagent, and jewellers are taking part and hosting their own Tea & Blether in their own businesses to make Paisley town centre as Dementia Friendly and as welcoming as possible for those living with Dementia and their carers.
Some businesses are also holding Raffles as part of their Tea and Blether with fabulous prizes to be won, with all proceeds going to Alzheimer Scotland.
Colette Cardosi, Chair of Paisley First, said: “All these business owners and their staff have undergone Dementia Friends Training with Alzheimer’s Scotland as we work together to make the town centre accessible for all members of our local community.
“So come and join us, let’s get together for a blether!”
Dementia is not part of the natural ageing process. Dementia affects the brain, making it harder to remember things or think as clearly as before. It's an umbrella term for over 100 different types of illnesses and disease symptoms. Symptoms of dementia may include memory loss and difficulties with day to day tasks, language and problem-solving.
Alzheimer Scotland provides information, support and dementia-friendly activities to help make sure nobody faces dementia alone.

2. John McKay Jewellers – 53 Moss Street, PA1 1DR – Enter their raffle in their shop to be in with a chance of winning a pair of diamond stud earrings

4. News Express– 69 High Street, PA1 2AY – cuppa, cakes and a chat, all day

6. Print Centre – 31 Gauze Street, PA1 1ES – sweets, drinks and a chat, all day
7. Rainbow Turtle – 7 Gauze Street, PA1 1EP – in association with Cloud 9 Deli – tasty treats and charismatic chat, 11am – 3pm
8. Shopmobility Paisley and District – Storie Street Car Park, PA1 2AP – cuppa, cupcakes and a chat, 10am to 4pm
9. Taste Buds – 22B Lawn Street, PA1 1HF – cuppa, cakes, and a chat, 7.30am to 3pm
10. Taste & C – 35 Moss Street, PA1 1DL – cuppa and a chat, all day
11. William Hill – 10/12 Gilmour Street, PA1 1BY
12. Whisky Joes – 7B New Street, PA1 – cuppa and a chat and cakes from 12pm, raffle for a bottle of Holy Grass Vodka
