On this Soft Furnishings course, you will learn all the tricks and tips to create curtains, Roman Blinds and lampshades to a professional standard. You will be taken step by step through the process of making a pencil pleat curtain and roman blind sample. In week three you will have the opportunity to make a lampshade. You can then use your newly acquired skills to make a full-sized curtain/blind at home. No previous experience required but you need to be able to use a sewing machine.
You will learn how to:
• Calculate fabric requirements.
• Make a single curtain and Roman blind in a sample size.
• Attach linings.
• Hem and finishings.
• Make a 30cm drum lampshade.
What to bring: everything you need for your curtain and blind is provided for you. Please bring a piece of fabric measuring 30cm x 100cm or larger on week three for your lampshade.
If you don’t want to attend all three lessons, they can be booked separately.
