The Big, Bald, Bearded Glaswegian. A naturally skilful and riveting raconteur, Scott Gibson mixes a conversational style with his own unique brand of dark humour, gloriously bad language and shrewd observations. His brush with mortality galvanised him into becoming a stand-up and inspired the show Life After Death, which won the then 32-year-old the Edinburgh Comedy Best Newcomer Award at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe – making him the first Scottish comic in history to do so.
Scottish Comedian of the Year Rosco McClelland is riding the Scottish comedy revival, hotly tipped as one of its brightest stars, with bags of potential and professional accolades to prove he is one to watch. Twice nominated Best Newcomer at Scottish Comedy Awards, and winner of Scottish Comedian of the Year in 2016, Rosco’s gravelly and animated onstage presence has impressed judges and audiences alike. He commands continuous laughter from his audiences, his naturally humorous delivery and surreal observations making a remarkable performance.
Jay Lafferty has been performing comedy since 2005 working all over the UK as well as performing in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Reykjavik and Amsterdam. An experienced compere and stand-up, Jay has an easy manner on stage, instantly connecting with her audience – whether a rowdy group of stags and hens or a serene ladies luncheon. Jay’s Debut Full Fringe Run solo show, Besom (2017) ranked Number 5 in the Top 10 best reviewed comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe 2017. Leading to a successful tour run and now a residency at The Gilded Balloon’s Basement Theatre Jay Lafferty’s Besoms. Jay also has residency at Edinburgh’s historic comedy club, The Stand with her monthly show Bona Fide.
Gary Little is one of the most consistent and funny acts in Scottish comedy. He is recognised as a master storyteller, and is a regular headliner at many of the top comedy clubs in the UK. A regular at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, his 2013 and 2014 shows were the fastest selling shows in the programme, requiring an unprecedented 4 additional nights added to the run, due to overwhelming demand. 2015 and 2016 seen Gary selling out again. 2014-2016 also seen Gary playing to sold out rooms with his solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival.
