It may have been 66 million years since they last roamed the earth, but dinosaurs still capture kids imagination unlike anyhting else. Come along and learn all about them! Saturday 17th March: Birdsong!
Birdsong is one of nature’s simple wonders that many of us enjoy, but it is anything but simple. Have you ever wondered if birds have “accents”? Did you know some birds take up to 30 breaths a second to keep up their melody? Did you know some birds have a record collection of up to 200 songs!?

When he's not in the rainforest Stewart spends a lot of time studying Scottish birds. March is a great time of the year to spend a Saturday morning at Lochwinnoch studying the birds and learning about their calls. The leaders will also talk about feathers and their uses, which are more than just flying!

So come and learn about birdsong and appreciate it in an all new way.

Saturday 21st April: Eggs!
Bird eggs are one of nature’s most amazing, delicately balanced marvels that provide and contain all the safety and food a developing chick needs. They’re such a successful invention that many animals apart from birds use them. They come in round, oval, pear and cone shapes plus all the colours of the rainbow. But why? You’ll just have to come and find out!

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for RSPB Lochwinnoch Nature Explorers Group are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
