This popular multi-arts festival celebrates Paisley’s rich history of weaving and radicalism, encapsulated in the famous victory of the town’s weavers in the historic ‘sma’ shot’ dispute.
Relive the legendary day and join the Sma’ Shot Parade from 12pm at Brodie Park. Co-ordinated by Bridgeman Arts in collaboration with community groups, performers and musicians, this year’s parade brings to life the traditional weaver’s holiday and trip ‘doon the watter’, including the reveal of a spectacular paddle steamer float.
The parade ends at the Main Stage where the Provost opens the event.
Celebrate Paisley’s unique culture and wonderful weaving heritage with our event themes, ‘Doon the Watter Family Fun’, ‘Radicals’ and ‘Makers at Weave’ themes.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Weave Festival with Sma’ Shot Day are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
